What is home?

Home is where the heart is, they say,
But what does it mean, in every way?
Is it a place where you feel safe and sound,
Or where you can laugh and play around?

Is it where you grew up, with memories galore,
Or where you live now, with those you adore?
Is it where you find comfort, peace, and rest,
Or where you can be yourself, at your best?

Maybe home is more than just a physical space,
Maybe it's where you feel loved, in every embrace.
Maybe it's where you find belonging and worth,
Or where you can be vulnerable, for all it's worth.

Whatever home means to you, my friend,
Hold onto it tightly, until the very end.
For home is where you can truly be,
The best version of yourself, wild and free.

About this poem

Home can mean different things to different people but home is always a place you can feel safe and love and inspired you to never roam. For wherever you go, and whatever you do, Home is always within you. The tone of "What is Home?" is reflective and contemplative, inviting the reader to think deeply about the meaning of home and what it means to them. It's a thoughtful and introspective piece that encourages the reader to consider the many different aspects of home and how it shapes our lives.
