I do not want to be a dreamer anymore

Sanni-Arewa Nifemi 1994 (Akure)

I saw you again in my dreams last night,
And you have begun to make this a bad habit.
Now I long to see you when I sleep,
But the midnight promises are things I hope you don't keep.

It seems more often now you are here,
Than when you physically were near.
And there was a time that was all I asked,
There was a time that was all you were tasked.

I do not want to be a dreamer,
Because the same dreams you didn't believe I had then,
Are the only places you exist now.
When you were here, you hurt me with your presence.
Now that you are gone, you still find a way to hurt me with your absence.
