The fight of your life

Round 1 fight!
No one knows who will win this fight,
Not even the fighter fighting yet she fights
It may result in a loss or if she's lucky a win
If she loses she will she simply throw the towel in
Or will she find the strength to try and try again
Until the enemy finally falls freeing her from this ball and chain
Then the test will be can she continue to abstain,
As this enemy is ferociously fierce, and inexorable to smite
Nothing less will do in this fight, there's no time to contrite
Let the fight continue ding ding the bell rings round 2 fight
This opponent is crafty a clever fucker a master manipulator
It knows what moves you, she must think and be clever
The enemy throws a sweet right hook, followed by a square faced jab
She's looking dazzled those hits weren't exactly sparring taps
this enemy is pressing her and plans to tear her apart,
She needs to defend, why aren't her hands up covering her face
She's leaving herself wide open for a real jaw breaker what a mistake
Her apponant is underhanded and he's clocked her weakest spots
And now they're on his radar as he begins to plan his inialation plots
She could be in some serious trouble here if she doesn't fight back
Problem is She's stood here before and failed and took smack after smack
This time she doesn't want history to repeat itself forward is the only way to go,
Even though.......
She knows he can smell her fear, he sees it clear in the twinkle of her eyes
Her weaknesses are on show, as if there in bold brass and bright lights
He knows just how to taunt her, to get under her skin,
His glare, that smug, slimey stare sends shivers down her spine
He's eyes Inflict a lethal itch thats always just out of reach, that's time!
Back to the corners each apponant goes eyes remain locked
He maliciously mocks her laughing, pointing is this it is she fucked
No time to think, Ding ding ding it's time for round 3,
Great strike one  and a two, jab jab cross and he's still standing
Oh you thought eventually this enemy will get tired or even ease up,
Girl you tripping he doesn't get tired he's relentless,
He will linger in your dreams at night, he'll be walking down the street at your side
From the moment you open your eyes, until you close them he mingles in your mind,
Tainting every thought, every vision, every feeling, every emotion, he's there
Niggling, nagging, begging, just one more shot I swear.
And before I no it we are dancing around the ring
He's closing and I'm ducking and diving trying to avoid him
Until you can't anymore, your cornered you have to face him,
If you relent, the relapse will be immense, and to start again will be grim
The only way he can win is by fighting dirty
And false pretences, Ref really!!
So now I've got to choose become another one of his many lost souls
Or get back up and fight him before he takes my soul

Round 4 can I take anymore,
The withdrawals are my Achilles heel,
Yet there my enemies superpower, a weakness he knows I feel,
Yet i cannot allow him to regain control to regain his reign,
To reattach that ball and chain once again
If I don't beat this, then it is going to take my life
And I'll be forever consumed by this lowlife
I need to be vigilant, vigorous with vitality
We aren't just talking about simply surviving but a life, mortality,
Otherwise the torture he will subject me to it'll be slow and painful,
He will rot the lot, from the inside out, with a glare so disdainful,
He'll convince everyone I'm unsalvageable,
Then Without a care he could rip away my hopes and dreams,
He will consume or destroy all that is good in my life as he deems,
Believe that if nothing else,
He came to destroy me and he could achieve it all with a little bit of liquid,
It is an eloquent elixir but soon it becomes all consuming, now you're addicted,
Now im a paranoid, sycophant, masochistic dilettante
The old me is gone and In her place is practically a walking zombie,
You are no longer be able to protect yourself or anyone you love from your addiction,
This is a Fact not fiction, it is the nature of the beast, that is addiction.

Round 5  Time to fight for your life,
You've already taken a pasting
The question is now
Do you have the will to keep going
To find that inner strength needed to get back
I no you've been knocked down
Again and again and again and again
The ugly truth is that you May very well lose your life
Its like a form of self harming The craving for more of its toxicity, is so intense
But you must keep going you must face your demon to fight it to win.

Here we are ladies and gentlemen
The final round, D DAY
Its time to make that choice,
Just take another hit just one more
The fulfillment of that release
The feeling you can finally breathe
And for a second your out that fight,
But for how long 4 hours 6 if your lucky
Then the cycle begins again, back to round one
Or you can get back up
And put your defense up
The euphoria is no longer in any of the hits
You are simply battling to stop being sick
And it's Relentless, and it's hard and it hurts
you litrally have to take this beating
It feels like it's continuous and constant
but it's not, you have broken the cycle
Do you fight? Or do you not?
I can't make that distinction for you
only you can get yourself back up,
Only you can fight your demon
Your family can't, Your friends can't
This is all on you for you to change
So you may lose again you may Get knocked down again
In round 1,2,34 even 5 don't think you're safe
Because now Your competing
In the fight of your life,
And you may have to fight it for the rest of your life

Me my sobriety journey
Will I succeed I've no idea, but at least I can say I tried and I'm fighting for my life,
And im fighting hard I'm fighting gallantly
with all I have with all my might,
My absolute best is all I can do
I just hope my best is enough
To enter my new life of sobriety
And all that fighting I've done will do

Don't let Addiction win you can get back up,
You can fight again and win and you must
Keep getting back up if it's 2 or 200 times
You can and must try again and again.
Don't give up on your sobriety
You deserve to live the best life possible to.
