My Grateful Heart

Tonya Richardson 1968 (Mississippi)

You are like a lighthouse and I am a ship lost at sea. You shine a great light across the distance that’s guiding me. I wish I could help you the way you help me. Though I’ve only known you for a short time I feel like I’ve known you for years. I wish I could speak words of comfort and calm your fears. It’s just who I am, I give to others what I need. I get the greatest pleasure from a good deed. Just know that I have an ear that’s ready to listen and a shoulder where you can rest. You are a wonderful, giving and compassionate person and you deserve the best.

~ from a grateful heart
