Peace in Negotiation

Tallis Browne 1998 (Monrovia)

The wraith of a plain old Wednesday
Floats oh so glum over
our lovely swamp on a hill,
the tireless and petrified L words
Struck to their knees with fogged bags over their heads

Behind them America runs in with
The swagger of a raconteur to strangle them out. The huddled masses of the Church of Democracy,
slain by their flock.

Dreary goes as dreary goes, cause old Joe is a talkie we’ve seen before.
Refreshing nonetheless, only but a citizen,
time will be the test.
