A Canvas Made Of Love

My body is actually made of a treble staff
Every emotion is really just a note
And you know how to play me perfectly
You make me feel very D#

If we are both instruments
Then together we make the best smooth jazz
Well, apart from jazz way down south
Wait, why are you laughing?

I guess you make me feel funny too
Good funny
Heart-pound-out-of-chest-when-I-see-you funny
I guess me feeling like that is something to laugh at

I was never meant to feel like this
But I do feel like this
And I think I like this
And I think I’m in love with you

If my heart is a canvas
You paint me in all sorts of pastels
No dark colours on the palette
Paint me like someone you truly love

It is nice to be painted
But I like to brush up against you even more
Words, like me, are imperfect
But full of affection for you

All I know is you and I,
We were meant to create art together
