Crystal Mountain

Ronald Bunch 1982 (Grand Rapids)

Crystal mountain.
I open my curtain
And see you sparkling.
Open and steady,
I reach for a pen,
I ride on a poem
As I write marking.

I march on words
Of what tickles me
Out yonder.
My throat and lungs
Speak of love crafted
By the spirit of God
I ponder.

It is sweet.
I call out and say,
“The spirit of God
Is in His presence.”
What a treat.

In my bedroom
Closet God crafts
My heart with love.
As I pray the crystal
Mountain shatters
As I speak the truth
Of what matters.

The crystal mountain
Is a mountain of
Hate and deceit
That looks fair.
God does win
This fight for my
Soul, I swear.

And everything points
To the truth of the bible
As I march on sweet
Words that take me
For a ride,
Not trouble.

A ride of hope,
Love and truth,
While God speaks
To me with His
Presence in my
Closet booth.
