Love lost to a stranger

I fell in love with a face I knew,
A heart that beat so strong a true,
But time went by and things did change,
And now that face, it seems so strange,
The words we spoke, the dreams we had,
All faded away and left me sad,
For now I feel like I'm alone,
With someone I once truly had known.
The laughter shared, the tears we shed,
Are all but memories in my head,
