Narrative
I am a mother
The words taste unfamiliar to me, as they roll off of my tongue, yet it feels as if it is all I have ever been
I am filled with an all-knowing power, whilst battling the relentless guilt of knowing nothing at all
I am overflowing with love and resentment
I have sacrificed everything and I have been given the world

About this poem

I wrote this poem during the first 6 weeks of postpartum pregnancy, during the early hours of the morning whilst I breastfed.
