HOLD ON I'M HERE

                     HOLD ON I'M HERE

ON BENDED KNEES I PRAYED OUT LOUD
OH GOD PLEASE HELP ME
                     I CANNOT SEE
I TRIED TO TOUCH HIM BUT I COULD NOT FIND HIM I REACHED OUT MY HAND
                  AS HE PASSED BY
BUT SOMETHING STOPPED ME
                  I WONDERED WHAT
MY INNER SELF I COULDN'T LET GO,
                  IT FRIGHTENED ME
              OH WHAT WAS WRONG?
I PULLED I GRABBED I TRIED TO HOLD ON !
BUT MY FEET WERE SLIPPING GOING
            DOWNWARD! DOWNWARD!
I LOOKED BELOW AND ALL I COULD SEE
           WAS PAIN AND HEARTACHE
                WAITING FOR ME
I DARE NOT SPEAK I MUST BE STILL
HE'S CALLING ME CAN'T YOU HEAR?
THE FEAR INSIDE ME KEPT PULLING
                      ME BACK
I CRIED DEAR LORD PLEASE SAVE ME I PRAY
THEN CAME HIS VOICE LOUD AND CLEAR
            BUT SOFT AND GENTLE
                    TO MY EAR
LOOK UP! LOOK UP! IT'S ME YOU SEE
I OPENED MY EYES AND I COULD SEE
ALL THE BEAUTY THAT WAS
                WAITING FOR ME
OH! WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG TO TRUST
IN THE ONE THAT LOVED ME SO.
I'VE BEEN HERE WAITING FOR YOU,
HERE'S MY HAND JUST HOLD ON,
                 DON'T LET GO,
FOR IT WON'T BE LONG BEFORE THE
       DARKNESS TURNS TO DAWN
AND LEAVES BEHIND THE UGLY VEIL
THAT KEPT MY SOUL IN DEEP DESPAIR
AS I HELD ON TO HIS HAND
            THE FEAR WAS GONE
               I WASN'T ALONE
