Getting older (55)

Growing Old {55}

You don’t appreciate what you have till it’s gone

Your youth, body and mind
Will soon fade in time
Before you know it, your fifty-five
You don’t have much more  time to be alive

Your looks will fade
That’s what they said
By then I hoped I would be dead

Looking in the mirror
bags under my eyes
new aches and pains
To my surprise

I used to move quite fast you see
I’d be so full of energy
My ready to go
Got up and went
I worked 5 hours and I am spent

I’ve become my parents
Please say it isn’t so
I now know what it’s like to grow old

Treasure your youth
Enjoy your life
Because before you know it you’ll be fifty-five
