funny

funny how the sunlight dances
across the morning sky and the
moonlight fumbles before the dawn.
funny how a strangers smile
can mean more in a moment than
a loved ones tears can mean
in a lifetime.
funny how sometimes walking
can feel more awkward and
foreign than dancing
in front of an
uninterested crowd.
funny how a kind word can
be forgotten with breakfast
but a critics voice is
repeated nightly for a
lifetime.
funny how your friends
can sometimes tear you
down in front of an
audience and not even
a stranger can save you
this time.
funny how you control
the way others perceive
you and let them control
how you perceive yourself.
