Wanted Back To Have What Was
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Only when to reminisce,
A taking for granted what is gone to miss...
Do many who chose not to appreciate,
Those days to want back to have what was.
As if that to have had,
For those who are the same...
Minds unchanged people.
Doing what they do best.
With a passing of their judgement on others,
Making efforts to endeavor...
A moving on from negativity,
And road blocks to proudly build.
While aggressively,
Heard complaining to hear them blame...
That which was to have had,
Now gone in the past.
Had not been good enough,
To keep valued.
Yet...
As if a herd of elephants,
Betting amongst themselves to never forget.
Anything.
But, remain...
A doing done to believe,
That which is left to go unappreciated...
Has a way to replenish and restore delusions.
Fantasized to fiction,
Would and could get better with time.
Eventually.
Like everything else does that comes to go,
Intentionally ignored!
Right?
With a doing to leave benefits,
To the very ones given entitlements.
Not to have earned even one.
With exceptions like civil servants,
Military folks and thankless volunteers.
Who can not be accused,
Of ripping apart into pieces,
A progress gone unrecognized to identify...
What it was to have had to now want back!
No one in the fight,
For something to have had to cherish...
Will stand and watch it rot.
Many stubbornly still keep it kept believed,
That their many steps...
Repeatedly taken to explore and adventure,
What was to have been...
Will reveal to them a future ahead.
Ablaze with colorful rainbows.
Emptying into pots of gold.
As long as their hindsight,
Of the past to have lived it had...
Clears their vision of it.
With HIGH and out of reach expectations!
Although I am told,
God works in mysterious ways.
And miracles do happen!
Like the making of Earth in 7 days.
Complete with wide screen TVs.
Internet and social media connections.
And cellphones to send updated 'selfies'.
