Pastor gets a little dirt on his message…

Sitting down with my
Strawberry pie
June season it was.
And the prospect of chilled
Fruit delights
Woke me up.

Went online and
Quickly saw
Facebook comments
About the worldly touches
Of a certain renowned Preacher.
The one commenting
Obviously thought that
Every word should be pristine
Dry cleaned.
Like the Bells of St. Mary’s.
But really robbed of all
Convicting power.
Words to remind of sin
And Heaven’s correcting Power.
Talk missing completely
Many hungry hearts.
Who have come expecting.

I got all huffy
Jumped to Pastor’s defence
Got real smarty pants.
As if that were called for.
Who does he preach for?
Extol?
Praise and honour?
Illustrate from
All Four Evangels?
I can shut up now.
All is well.
