A fox curiously ambling.
Bluejay wrestling
With smaller scrapper
Over one dropped nut.


Wind whining
Through the pines
Giving an edgy
Musical score


But the smell
With the breeze
Cannot be forgotten.
It contains comforts
Of a warm July morning.
Past rains refreshing.
Greening.
And hope in furtive hearts.
Waiting.
Strong as sizzling fire
Neath icy boughs.
