Today

The monster of terror, pain, and self doubt.
Is creeping in for an assault.
It taunts me as it circles and growls and paws.
Showing its red eyes full of rage dispair and pain.
Fangs dripping with tears and sweat.
Claws as
sharp and lethal as a blade.
Can I run?
Can I hide?
Can I escape on a mountain high?
Or swim in the deepest seas so I may go free?
But a rumble in the distance made it very clear.
There is no escape.
There is no solace for me.
From the growing pains of life, loss and shame.
There is no shelter, no bunker or tree.
When we've been made to learn to teach to lead.
Without these pains we would not know.
What all of this is really for.
Without the pains, the struggles the fears.
We would not have the freedom to live to love to feel.
Then what do I really have to fear?
I'll take the gamble.
I'll take it all.
Because at the end of the day
What can you do?
But play the game.
And play it straight.
Dont ever waiver
and keep making mistakes.
Because you'll never find the real escape.
From every action, every word of every day.
So stand tall dont waiver and dont delay.
Because today and every day is your battle day.
