The snake

The snake reeled away.
I was standing nigh.
It was going at its own will.
I was standing and sigh.

At first it crossed my garden,
then got into a trough.
Raising it's head,
It swam enough.

I thought it was queer
to throw stone at it,
as it was moving
without fear.
