-Wager Of Sin-

Joseph Ernest Jr.. 1989 (Tacoma WA)

- Wager Of Sin-
By: Joseph Ernest Jr.

My name is Joe and I'm a addict and
I hide behind the drugs in my system, so when my spirit it talks,
I don't have to listen.

They keep me from myself and being my best, my heart and my soul, dormant in my chest.

Lost in myself, I process these feelings with sleepless unrest.

Just like you're body, you're spirit it bleeds, when you don't give it the love and the care that it needs.

It will ruin you're life, bring you to You're knees, alone in you're cell with you're cry's and you're please.
Distraught at the thought of this powerful disease.

It's 11pm in the dark I sit, with a hole in my heart in this bottomless pit,
Reflecting on the choices that brought me to this.

The addict inside told me it would be fun, now my spiritual self lay half dead and numb, a slave to the needle I was on quite the run, Russian roulette with a half loaded gun.

So much loss, for sooo little gain,
I traded it all for so much pain!

Now look were it's led me, it's culminated to this, trapped behind prison walls in this endless abyss,
With feelings of emptiness were somethings amiss.

I had thought to myself, if I don't clean up my act Ile go rite back to prison. But that's the wager of sin.. And One Last Bad Decision!

Ile never forget that night!..

About this poem

©®"Wager Of Sin" by "Joseph Ernest Jr." In this life, we have a tendency to be so blissfully unaware of the other realms and the higher consciousness that is ever present in our physical environment..This is, primarily, how the most high god, and the most high Hierarchy of angels are able to convey spiritual guidance, offer direction and hope, assurance and warnings..the times when I felt most in peril and even when experienceing times of most success, there is a message in a message, need we only look inward and remain observant of our environment ask God for guidance. .he will show up everytime but the answers don't come like a letter in the mail,.. oh hey god here, just wanted to reply to your prayer last night ... No it's not that easy. But once you are woke to how god and spirit guides convey direction, you can't help but notice it everywhere!! If we don't learn from a lesson imposed and ignore it for what it is it will continue to be imposed in our life's as perpetual occurrences of neg cycles beat us into submission until we make that revelation ourselfs.. in my life, one of these lessons/ times of trail that Ile never forget, one that was so visceraly instrumental in my awakening to that that God was telling me. It was 2019, sep 12th and I was at coyote ridge prison in WA state, med custody facility, I was finishing up a 3 1/2 year sentence for using a credit card that didn't belong to me at a casino id theft 2, psp2, theft 2. I was on my way to work release and was on my way back to Shelton for 6 days in transit to Bishop lewis house downtown Seattle.. when I got to Shelton we were being assigned cells and the officer had a big cup of sticks with colors on the bottom, R1, R2 or R3 housing unit each unit holds about 400 guys and we all drew stills and parted ways.. some didn't pick sticks cuz they had disciplinary, custody restrictions. or pc didn't walk mainline and went to the hole, so I make it to the unit I picked R1 the same unit as the previous time 10 years ago and when i came there on intake on this charge I go upstairs, the officer calls out names 1 by 1, we part ways again, and When he called out Ernest he called my cell and I make it to my cell I knew just were it was for it was the same cell I hade been in the last 3 times here when there was about 1200 cells that one could fall into.. my celly was cool "Criminal Mendocino" he was let's say one of the most respected members for the south siders" I was stoked I diddn't get no weirdo as a celly! But above all else I couldn't shake the thought that this was my 3rd time landing in the same cell and definitely, this time, by the draw of a stick!! After hours of intellectual conversation with my cell mate.. it's lights out and as I lay there in reflection of my circumstances.. everything up to this point and how I was in the same cell! As it started to rain really hard thunder and lightning, the sound of defending rain pounding the roof.. a sense of foreboding sunk in and it was all so blatantly clear what god was telling me.. if I kept doin what I was doing, I was gonna keep getting what I always got!! And I was compelled to write on that cell wall that that was going through my head at the time.. and until my last day on this earth, Ile NEVER forget what I wrote on that wall that night!! I wrote.. Ile never forget that night!..
