Sunrise

All of God was outside today,
at four o’clock in the morning.
My heart drummed and rocked
to the traveler's celestial clock.
Purple with night, yet full of light,
the sky was dyed blue and gold.
Heavens rolled.

The Milky Way smeared periwinkle,
and blinked a silent scream.
A chariot of blood-red on the horizon appeared,
poured a sunrise like fire on an electric guitar and,
blanketed gold over the etheric terrain.
Plenilune in symphony dissipated silver-bright,
at four o’clock in the morning twilight.

Orchestrating praises to the One,
songbirds did clamor notes and song!
They flittered and fluttered in cacophony.
Another day is awakening with wings,
an endorsement for hopefulness!
A glorious banquet offered from above,
melted my fears and filled me with love!

An angel cloud shimmered in breadth and depth.
It took my breath away.
Winds blustered my hair and unrestrained trees,
with fragrance of earth, urban, and dew.
I was with God out there, I knew!
My Creator was in the air, not gone,
for a moment outside on my stoop in the dawn.
