Something about Love

Mahima 2005 (Rampur Bushahr)

Upon the topic of love I was asked,
My life spent immersed in a poetic verse,
By the great writers who left me bewitched
Compelled my heart to tell and converse

Oh Yeats, with but one line,
You've left my soul in turmoil, divine
"One man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face" your words occurred.

Longing for something real, I have been,
Enchanted by the idea of love,
So much that a vivid image formed within,
A fantasy that fits me like a glove.

A love that would transcend my skin, and delve deep into the depths of my soul.

A Love so mighty, it would move mountains to keep thy bond alive.

A love that requires no material offerings, just the mere knowledge of your existence on this earth serve as the ultimate gift.

A love that deepens with each passing day, and grows stronger with each passing year.

A love that rise above the mortal bounds, undying, even as our ashes scatter to the winds.

A love for whom I would die a thousand deaths, and willingly embrace the afterlife's sweetest breath.

A kind of love that cannot be expressed in just mere words, the heart's call that only the beloved can hear

And I know love is something more, Than just poems and romantic fates.
It's the look in your eyes, the warmth of your touch, A profound sentiment for which my heart awaits,
