Ode to the diamonds in the sky
The light on my phone hits my face
like the sun would hit you on a bright sunny day
Mother says we are taking a walk
and complains about my laziness
but never stops
I step outside and look up high
I see the diamonds that sit in the sky
I look at each diamond I see
I think of how easy being a star can really be.
Staring at the stars, I really wish I could fly
And not look at the stars that are up high .
We keep walking and of course,
Mom keeps talking.
Although the stars follow me home
I still very much feel alone.
As I sit in my room
I think of how there was so many stars
That surround the moon.
I want to look at the diamonds again
And so, I walk outside,
My family eye me.
As I pass the pile of bricks
Gee My family must think I'm sick.
I must sit down on a chair I'm so glad i finally got air
Watching the stars i think they're so high and
I'm so low but so are my toes.
I slowly doze off to sleep,
not making a single peep.
Mother notices How long i've been gone
I've been gone for so long.
She walks outside to see me asleep
She picks me up and puts me down on the bed
Although I'm asleep she still sings to me.
