Fear

YUSUF FATIHA 2008 (Sagamu)

Followed me for years
Now you are all I hear
Creeping behind me steadily
Trying to engulf me

 And you won
Made me neglect the morning scene
Now I shiver under my blanket
With my brows covered in sweat

In the morning, waiting for light to rise
Listening to the devil as it hums
My heart beating way pass it's limit
Then I screamed "this is it!"

      Fear you won once again.

About this poem

It is all about the fear that tried to engulf us. Do we really let it swallow our thought or we defeat it?
