Cafe Musings

Wind blows past in my face,
A chicken wrap half eaten as sadness takes place,

Sucess, what is that fickle concept,
Another interview finished and yet probably I haven't done my best.

A prose piece, a poem

Do I dare to dream?
With my cappuccino, I lick the cream.

More rejections I fear,
And perhaps the only reason I write this is to keep my mind clear.

I tried to look good but perhaps it was for no-one.

I know I have to keep at trying to find work,
To pay my mortgage, for my daughter and yet I wonder what it's all worth?

A cafe lunch a preemptive guess,
For success?

Autumnal wind blows cold

About this poem

This was written after I had an interview and was underconfident about the result of it. I, also happened to be having a bit to eat at a cafe post interview. This is my first time writing a poem on this site and so the underconfident feeling continues.
