Legal-ease

Here Miss Para legal
Take this proof of death
Obituary sent to London Free Press
Notarized copy of Mom’s Last Will.
Morticians invoice.
Names and addresses of loved ones
Included.
Nothing complicated here.
Make things happen
Wouldjya?

Yea verily, Sirs, it gives us
Gladsome pause to
Make merry
For this important
Dance of legalities
And fretsome verbiage.
On behalf of
Thy privileged entitlement.
Both specific and residual.

We have used paras three
7, 11, 13 throwing in
Grandchildren’s names
Click click.
And also comes as no surprise
To add paras 19, 21, 28.
All on hard drive.
(As originally dictated by
Harry Offputting.
Nine years ago
Over a bad weather weekend.)
And signing off, witnessing
Wrap up.
In witness whereof, the
Undersigned, being of sound mind, etc…

Yeah, come on get on with it.
Don’t stir the pot prithee.
Rather lower heat
And simmer a delightsome broth.
Over reasonable period of time.
To satisfy all Earls, Judiciaries
And scribes attending.

Well guess again peons.
The tricks that mystify
Come next.
And we have a hat-full.
Our language might bring
On the hives, migraines.
Be warned.

About this poem

An experience with a law firm handling the probate of the will for our Mother Bev who died Sept of 2023. Remembered for all the love and Life she shared. Scott and I remember fondly. And smile about it.
