Christian Freedom
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Who hindered you from obeying,
Because you were running so well;
That was the cause of your straying,
As though to be controlled by hell.
This persuasion is not from God,
A little leaven leavens the lump;
And never causing to be flawed,
That is putting you in a slump.
I have confidence in the Lord,
That you will take no other view;
Whomever troubles be ignored,
And start to righteously pursue.
Why are you still persecuted,
The crime of the cross was removed;
And judgment has been executed,
Even though it has not behooved.
I wish of the unsettled thought,
So that you would be emasculated;
To understand just what you sought,
In the Lord, you are elated.
For you are called unto freedom,
Freedom as an opportunity;
To advance unto His Kingdom,
Free from all your iniquity.
You should always love your neighbor,
Never to devour another;
Watch and assist in their labor,
And treating them as your brother.
