I still love you
I still love you
I still love you, though the years have passed,
Like a broken frame, a love that couldn't last.
In the corridors of my memories, you still reside,
I still love you, eternally I can't hide.
Through the daylight of time, I wander alone,
In search of the love that once we had known.
Our flame may have grown cold,
But the echoes of our love still gently unfold.
In the twilight hours, when the world is at still,
I revisit the moments that time cannot kill.
Our laughter and our tears, becomes the moments of desire,
Now our happy moments are lost in the mists of a fire.
I still love you, though you're no longer here,
You will forever be in my heart, forever and held dear.
In my dreams, your presence is missing, a complete reminder of an incomplete love
Though the paths we once tie now diverge apart,
I still cherishes what we used to be,
And even if time has taken a change upon this soul
The memories will remain as long as I'm alive.
About this poem
This poem is about enduring love and the lingering emotions and memories that remain even after a relationship has ended. The speaker expresses their ongoing love for someone, despite the passing of years and the realization that their love couldn't last. The person they love resides in the corridors of their memories, and they can't hide their eternal love for them. The speaker reflects on their current state of loneliness and their search for the love they once shared with the other person. Although their flame has grown cold, the echoes of their love continue to unfold gently. In moments of stillness, particularly in the twilight hours, they revisit the memories that time cannot erase. They recall the laughter, tears, and moments of desire they once shared, which now exist only as remnants of a fading fire. Even though the person they love is no longer present, the speaker acknowledges that they will forever hold a place in their heart and be dearly cherished. In their dreams, the absence of the loved one serves as a constant reminder of an incomplete love. While the paths of the speaker and their loved one have diverged, the speaker still values and cherishes what they used to be. They acknowledge that time has changed them, but the memories they shared will endure as long as they are alive. Overall, the poem explores the theme of enduring love and the bittersweet nature of memories. It speaks to the depth of emotions and the lasting impact of a love that couldn't withstand the test of time. more »
