Set me free
A life so sweet that I made from scratch, I’ve gone through many trial to get here, it was slow not fast.
Addiction was a demon that I fought oh so dear, now I’m sober with nothing to fear.
I am blessed to say that I was given a second chance. It’s a true story, let me tell you why. I almost died in a car accident that injured my mind and almost took my life.
It gave me a TBI, but that’s in the past.
My life is a miracle each day that I breathe, thanks to God, he created a new me and set me free.
About this poem
I spent most of my 20’s battling addiction, in and out of impatient treatment centers.. A total of 7 of them, 5 here in the State of Washington and 2 more out of State. October 12th, 2019 I was in a severe, almost fatal car accident that put me in a coma for 2 weeks and gave me a TBI(traumatic brain injury) I fully recovered from having to relearn everything all over again, including walking and speaking. After my car accident I couldn’t stop smoking Cannabis and drinking alcohol so I went to another treatment in Massachusetts.
