Under the mask

Sit down and don't say anything
Let me talk

Deep
Deep
Deep
Inside I’m hurt
I’m crying out for help
And yet don't want anybody see that

I’m good
Good
Good
at hiding it
The pain
The nights I cry myself to sleep

The overthinking
Overthinking
Overthinking
If I am, am
I less than, not enough

Asking
Asking
Asking
myself if life is
Worth this loneliness.

Stuck
Stuck
Stuck
In the same
4 walls of me all day–

Things
Things
Things
Like that will
Drive anyone berserk.

Holding
Holding
Holding
It in don't
Make anything better

The more
I hold it,
the larger
the hole.
The larger
the hole,
the less
there is
to hold on to.

People ask,
“You okay?”
Yes! I say
So don't
Anybody feel bad for me

But every time
Every time
Every time
Someone asks
I hold back, ready to cry

Think of smokin’
the pain
Away …
but will that help?
It do, but it don’t last for long

For that time,
That little time
2 hours high
it is the. best. Feeling. …
Question is: When the smoke clears,
What is next?
