A Family Feud

One fine afternoon, probably, a Thursday evening, a quarell ensued in the family of Moses.

Mariam and Aaron castigated Moses, the last child of the family for marrying an Ethiopian wife.

God heard them abusing Moses and intervened.
He rebuked Miriam and Aaron for having no respect for his servant.

"...why then were you not
afraid to speak against my servant Moses?"
"Then the anger of the Lord burned  against them."

Mariam was immediately afflicted with leprosy. When Aaron pleaded with Moses, God insisted Miriam must remain outside the camp for one week.

About this poem

The siblings of Moses failed to acknowledge him as a man of God. "Familiarity breeds contempt." God rebuked them both and punished Miriam. The Israelites had to remain in the camp for one week.
