Old Bull

Joe Strickland 1986 (Hobbysville, SC)

When a young buck
Goes after a dame
It's expected, it's tame.
But when an old goat
Tries to get on a young goats' boat
It takes guts, it takes nerve
You gotta have the balls to serve.
And when a wise old fox
Goes after a hot young blonde
Oh, the gods must be fond
Cause it's pure damn craziness.
They walk by with a strut
Hips like a rut
Teasing old dudes like us
Just to watch us cuss
Cause we ain't getting none.
But let me tell you son,
You couldn't handle her grace
She's for a real man's embrace.
I'm the old bull, the king
And you're just a little thing.
You might have your quick thrills
But I've got the real deal skills.

I'm just a regular, blue collar, working stiff who took an interest in writing poetry many years ago but until recently I haven't had a desire to share any with anyone or pursue publication. I'm an unpublished fork lift operator by night, and a day drinker by choice. I can be followed on Twitter @JoeStricklandSC more…
