Black Spring

Black spring,
Unseen, unheard.
The world still turns,
The birds still sing.

But within,
The heart is cold,
The mind is numb,
The soul grows old.

Days pass,
Nights fade,
But the darkness lingers,
And the light has strayed.

A season of sorrow,
A time of loss,
A mournful tune,
A bitter cost.

Yet hope remains,
In every breath,
In each new day,
In the face of death.

In the black spring,
In the depths of pain,
We find the strength
To rise again.
