Tommy

My name is little Tommy,
This is my place of rest,
Come and sit beside me,
Feel my breath into your face,
From north, south,east and west.

My eyes never opened,
To meet the suns rays,
But I'm here to look over you,
On short dark winter evenings
And long hot summers days.

In this place of little Angels,
I will be forever here,
Until the day I open my eyes,
To the glory of a deep blue sky,
Take my hand you will understand why?

So go now go now and live your life
I'll get you through all the stress and strife,
Don't spend your time lamenting me,
There's a whole world out there for you to see.

Its only the dawn the day is young,
Our meeting again has already begun,
Don't draw the curtains let the sun shine through,
My reality forever in your heart I'll always love you.

About this poem

Our Grandson Tommy was still born last October. Its been so difficult to comprehend and only those parents who have been through it will understand the pain. As a form of overcoming the pain for me and solace to those who suffered the same I wrote this poem.
