Missing you in "Spanglish"

I have a place in Carrboro
where the silence can be heard.
I left my heart in a City
that does not know me,
just yet.

Town far away from my kisses
“rice con frijoles” and pubs
guava flavor on her luggage
caring package, no return.

I have a girl in Carrboro
town far away from my hugs
“pueblo de”college students
“sabor a pino” on my throat.

Mixture of dust and motels
traveling makes it so easy
always returning is fun
so spoiled my body and your nieces
wanted to hold you once more.

About this poem

This poem was inspired by my sister. We visited her in college and were leaving her behind. She is my baby sister and I love her dearly. I have not done any work on the lyrics since but I love it.
