I Love You

Wanted to ask
To talk
To you, about something
Every chance I got
Trapped the words were.
And never felt like the right time..

Time came and went
We said hello
We said goodbye.

Now I’m up here, wondering
To even ask at all?
It’s been inside for so long..
maybe it should just stay there.

Until we meet again.
Not sure when
Not sure how long.

Maybe when we do
I’ll tell you
I love you.

There are no words that can-
No funny saying
Or a witty quote that can convey

How or what I’m feeling
How or what in such a way.

Not sure what you might think…
Nervous tbh.
I’m sorta hoping you’re thinking the same…

Maybe ya can relate..

Drinking hot chocolate.
Sitting in your room.
On the phone or over a message.

I could’ve brought it up
But the words were stuck.
And I am confused.
Wondering.
What am I supposed to do?

These specific thoughts
These specific feelings
Have been around for quite some time.

I honestly don’t know what I want.
Or what to do.
I feel alone and trapped by my thoughts.

I wish to ask and speak
one on one
But I freeze up
And talk about the weather

scared to text this to you
For you may not respond
Then I’ll regret ever sending.
So I post
For only you to see.
For you don’t have to respond on it
Though I’d like.
But those blue checks won’t haunt me.

There’s this feeling
A feeling of want and desire.
I know it’s not right
But it’s not wrong either.

A feeling, a want
To be more than what is.
To be closer in a way.
Not sure what you might think…
Nervous tbh.
I’m sorta hoping you’re thinking the same…
Maybe ya can relate..

About this poem

This poem is expressing my deep feelings I do have for a friend of mine. We live in different countries, and I was just there on a visit and we got to see each other! The poem explains a time line of how I wanted to ask a question and tell her what I felt, but I never could. I go on to say how I could’ve brought it up, but I’m always quiet and the words just get stuck. The pain of this situation has really gotten to me. With no one to talk to, I write. Everything just seems to come out.
