Game Over

I look at the tattered life I've led
Daily anxiety brings more dread
Life goes on but im at a standstill
Lost in time, mustering up the will
Confront demons that plague me anew
Put them to rest and search for whats true

Life is a game, you learn when it's done
Hit the play button to see what you won
Look at that, you have three doors to choose
Don't be shy, what do you have to lose?
You have your sanity you may say.
No, door number 1 took that away

Door 2 must have something better right?
There goes innocence lost without a fight
Theres the last one, What are those tears
Dont be scared, time to face your fears

Jiggle the handle, walk on on to see
All that's left to take is your memory
Of what was, is, and ever will be
Rest my child you have been set free....
Game over

About this poem

This is one of my personal favorites written at a particularly dark time in my life. It is not meant to be depressing but eye opening.
