Fight Or Flight

Christina J.P. Harper 1984 (Colorado Springs Co)

Sometimes we fight,
Sometimes I cry.
The hate I scream.
The hate you have for me.

Why doesn't he listen,
Why won't he care.
The love I have for him,
Doesn't even notice,
Is real.

Sometimes we fight,
When will it hit him.
Life's realization of humans nature.
To have companion,
To be in love,
Instead with all this hatred.

Sometimes, just sometimes.
I wished he loved me as full as it can be.
To share the world together.
Instead of bickering.
Instead with words so soft and so spoken.
Words that say I love You,
Please stay with.
But here we are still instead.
All we are doing,
All that strength that we put in.
All isn't forgiven.
All we have left is,
All we do, is always just fighting.

About this poem

It's about two people who love each other but are too stubborn to stop listen and communicate. To try and see what's worth of where it's going.
