Racism

Labeeqa Baneen 2003 (Okara, Pakistan)

Racism is a poison that seeps into our souls,
It's a disease that infects our hearts and minds,
It's a cancer that spreads hate and fear,
And leaves us all blind.

It's a believe that some are better than others,
Based on the color of their skins,
It's a lie that we tell ourselves to feel superior,
And it's a sin that we commit everyday.

It's a barrier that keeps us from understanding,
And a wall that blocks us from empathy,
It's a force that tears us apart,
And it's a darkness that we must overcome.

We can fight it with education and awareness,
With kindness and compassion and love,
we can break the walls that divide us,
And build a world that's better for us.
