Daydreams

Tiffany Brasuell 1985 (Texas)

Daydreams of childhood echo in my mind
Everything I ever hoped to be
Life always gets in the way
And it all becomes distant memory
I could picture it all too clearly
As if a movie playing in my head
Now the images are all fuzzy
I grew up and my dreams seemed dead
The moment I found you breathed new life
Into those pictures time forgot
And restored my faith and belief
In the things for which I once fought
Love at first sight a mere fantasy
Of those dreams I once knew
Now a reality, from the instant I met you
Then and now, forever and always
Heaven sent, hand chosen, meant to be
For the rest of my days

About this poem

For the love of my life, Shawn Stover. I knew I loved you before I met you. My childhood dream, my reality, my forever.
