The Paradox of Selflessness: Navigating the Fine Line Between Serving Others and Serving Yourself.

In life, you'll come across many who put themselves first,
As they say, it's the survival of the fittest,
They'll do what they need to, to quench their thirst,
Without a care in the world, for who gets hurt or who's missed.

It's easy to fall prey to their sly ways, and start pleasing others,
As it's the norm, we've been taught to be kind and selfless,
But in doing so, we forget ourselves, and neglect our inner brothers,
Who crave our attention, and our love, to feel blessed.

It's a vicious cycle, to keep giving, and never receiving,
To be a people pleaser, and never to be pleased,
To be the one who's always smiling, but never believing,
That there's more to life, than just being a doormat, with ease.

It's time to break free, and to focus on your own needs,
To make yourself a priority, and to be your own best friend,
To find your inner joy, and your true happiness, through good deeds,
And not to be swayed, by others who may pretend.

For they'll accept and cheer for you, only when you're useful,
But that's not what life's about, it's not just a game,
It's about finding your purpose, and being truthful,
To yourself, and to others, and to never be ashamed.

So, don't be afraid, to put yourself first,
As long as you're not hurting, anyone else in the way,
For life is too short, to be living in thirst,
And to be unhappy, day after day.

Find what brings you peace, and what brings you joy,
And chase after it, with all your heart and soul,
For that's what life's about, to be your own envoy,
And to never let anyone, take away your control.

Don't be fooled by those who preach selflessness,
For they may have an ulterior motive, to exploit your generosity,
To use you as a pawn, in their game of chess,
And leave you stranded, without any reciprocity.

It's not selfish to take care of your own well-being,
To set boundaries, and to say no when you need to,
To prioritize your mental health, and avoid over-pleasing,
To do what makes you happy, and to see it through.

For when you're at peace with yourself, and content,
You radiate positivity, and attract the same in return,
Your happiness becomes infectious, and heaven-sent,
And your inner light shines bright, like a golden sun.

So, don't let the fear of rejection, or the pressure to conform,
Dictate your actions, or control your thoughts,
For you're unique, and your journey is your norm,
And your worth is not determined by the approval of the crowd.

Embrace your flaws, and celebrate your strengths,
And pursue your dreams, with passion and zeal,
For life is a journey, full of twists and bends,
And the path to happiness, is what you make it, for real.

In the end, remember this, my dear friend,
That your happiness matters, and your needs are valid,
So, don't compromise your integrity, for others to bend,
And stay true to yourself, even when others seem so jaded.

For when you put yourself first, in a healthy way,
You empower yourself, and inspire others to do the same,
You create a ripple effect, that could last for a lifetime, or a day,
And you leave a legacy, that's more than just a name.

So, be bold, be brave, and be yourself,
And don't let the opinions of others, dim your light,
For your true happiness, is not found on a shelf,
But within your heart, and your soul, shining bright.

So, focus on making yourself a priority, the way others do for self,
And let your inner joy, and true happiness, be your ultimate wealth.

Don't be afraid to take a step back and reflect,
To assess what truly matters in your life,
To determine what brings you joy and respect,
And to shed away the things that cause you strife.

For only when you're true to yourself,
Can you lead a life that's fulfilling and complete,
And find the happiness that lies on the shelf,
Unseen by those who are lost in the deceit.

So, trust your intuition, and listen to your heart,
For it knows what's best, and what will make you whole,
And don't be afraid to take a new start,
And to chase after your dreams, with all your soul.

For the journey to self-discovery is a lifelong quest,
Full of ups and downs, twists and turns,
But with courage and determination, you'll pass the test,
And find your purpose, and your inner fire, that brightly burns.

In the end, my dear friend, remember this,
That everyone has a different path to take,
But it's up to you, to find your own bliss,
And to create a life that's uniquely yours, to make.

So, never lose sight of what truly matters,
And stay true to yourself, and your inner voice,
For only then can you live a life that flatters,
And find the happiness that you truly deserve, by choice.

In conclusion, my dear friend, don't forget,
That everyone puts their needs first, it's true,
But it's up to you, to live a life without regret,
And to focus on yourself, the way others do for themselves too.

So, keep striving, keep growing, keep learning,
And never let anyone dull your sparkle, or your shine,
For you are capable of greatness, and yearning,
And the world is yours, to make it truly divine.
