Bedlam

Sasha 2003 (Colorado)

A man is strong, and hard headed.
A woman is tender, and well kept.
Neither I agree with, nor think is incorrect.

Born a man into a world of hate, confused most his life.
Had he been born of a different norm he might've lived to fight.
Surrounded by pressure “be rugged and strong”, he started to believe the teaching was wrong.
To push unto him the status quo turned to be a blight.

Nights too short and days too long
A lack of understanding of what he’s done wrong
From birth to degree always cast aside, as the member of the house to fall behind.
Crying and anger never even considered, forbidden in-house never to whisper.

“Power and glory is what you should seek!”
“Be one with the axe, kill the fish in the creek!”
“Ascending the ones who are one with their chair, ascending those who's work shows no care!”
“A man you will be, this you can’t change. No matter the time, no matter the days.”
“Get up off the ground, it didn’t hurt that much. You’re being weak, you don’t need a crutch.”
