Gone but not forgotten

John Coss 1987 (ohio)

Gone not forgotten

How can you leave?
Take your own life?
Don’t you remember the people left behind?
What about them, you don’t care?

No matter what has happened,
You could have done nothing to make us love you less.
You were never alone?
You always had me.

Granted school was hard,
Love was not always giving as much as you gave.
But why go to the struggle alone?
I was trying to reach out to you by phone.

You had a really hard time fitting in,
But that should not be enough to give in.
I was there when no one else cared,
And between us we always shared.

Life is tough with you gone.
Your parent’s friends and coworkers are asking why?
Women are bad,
And I knew that I tried to help.

But this is the end,
Just like your life.
Been many years and a lot of eyes full of tears?
For all the memories that were shared.
