Heart's Wrath

Goddamn this beating heart,
I don’t want it to stop, I don’t want it to start.

This maddening beating inside my chest,
Shall only be silent if put to rest.

It keeps me up deep within the night,
And does not stop upon the morning’s light.

With every pulse brings a painful shock,
Its constant pace like a ticking clock.

If only I could rip out this fragile part,
Goddamn this thing; my beating heart.
