To Pause and yet to Tarry

To pause and yet to tarry
By brook or lonely Spot
To look in the eye of all before you
Wether still or just passing by
To smile
Desiring nothing but ambivalence
And let charm do the talking for you

To pause and yet to tarry
By railings weathered and incomplete
To rest one's soul and feet
At an adequate distance from them
That would and could befall you
How tempted would you be to linger
Or point a finger at the indiscreet

To pause and yet to tarry
To behold the passings on this street
The passageway of time not fretting
Just passing slowly enough to speak
Of minutes like hours and days like clouds
All passing mingling horbouring inner needs
Might be lucky one of these be meet
Whilst pausing or tarrying on this street
