puzzle Pieces

I'm putting together a puzzle,
the puzzle is the pieces of my life.
The pieces get lost, they crack and they burn.
People say, to use more glue
but they don't know how many bottles
of glue I have been through just
trying to hold the pieces together.
They say search harder,
but no matter how many times
I turn my life upside down
they are lost.
Every crevice, every crack
is searched thoroughly, yet I'm still missing pieces
They say slow down
Take a deep breath
Retrace your steps
But I can't retrace my steps because they are so chaotic
from running and trying to hide
In hopes, I won't be lost like one of my puzzle pieces.
They say it will be okay and
to calm down, but
how can I be calm in a world
where even the biggest of puzzle pieces are lost
due to constant fear and anguish.
They say its no big deal,
but how are they so sure
When slowly my life is fading
Nearing the end, on the edge
of being lost like one of my puzzle pieces.
I'm just patiently waiting for that last piece to go
Hoping it will be painless, but
as the last piece goes
I am reminded to wake up.
