Peace

                   Peace
The peace that exists
 Is the force that resists
The turbulence
After the shelling and shooting,
Is the treaty that reinstates peace.
In the psyche, even when the body
Like a cork on a still pond,
Impressions and convictions jump within
Like a caged bird.

To long for peace is to worry about defence.
Defence is armament and rearmament.
Defence is deployment and conscription.
O peace! How fantastical you’re?
