New Me

Born in 1986 born of pure innocence, What was sin? What was bills? What was down the mountains and hills? Little did I know what was yet to come how cold and lonely it was that I’d want to numb, Numb everything I had ever been put through, Numb the pain, The hurt, The emptiness inside, Numb the tears of betrayal that fell from my eyes, Everything I had been through I didn’t want to feel it anymore Until a angel from Heaven had been born, My grand daughter born in 2021 her first cry and the innocence in her eyes made me realize I’ll face them demons and their lies, I prayed to God to save me from self destruction and harm as he did when the dr placed her in my arms, The pain from losing my mother in 2011 watching her take her last breath and going to heaven she was my best friend the only person who truly understood me, loved me unconditionally, loved me through all of my mistakes I had made she told me several times those memories would fade, But I still think about them, if I’d do anything different the answer is no because without all of my mistakes and pain in my life I wouldn’t be this loving parent,Nana, & wife, I have turned my life around for the absolute best no hatred or anger left in my chest, My child did the ultimate betrayal to me but I didn’t turn my back on my child because you must learn from your mistakes and understand the risk you make based off every decision you take, Life is based off the next choice you make, Be sure to let go and those chains will break.
