My Raven

My Raven.

My Raven will sit,
Perched proudly attop the clouds of my thoughts,
Casting a heavy shadow over me.

My Raven will squawk,
It's screaming sound drowning out the words
Of the few who still care for me.

My Raven will bite,
Beak breaking the skin of my arm,
Thin lines branching off of me.

My Raven will wrap
Its heavy, black wings around me so sweetly,
Drawing me in a numbing haze.

My Raven is a friend
Who I wish to part with
And yet,
I cannot bring myself to.

My Raven will wait,
Until I lay bare to its beak and its wings,
Weak against it
I no longer fight against it.

My Raven.

No one should be alone. more…
