My Hide, My Pride

My Hide, My Pride

How on Earth could I ever take off my hide, from my backside?
Doing this hurt me so much. The pain of removing my hide, eats me up from the outside, and the pain of removing my pride, eats me up from to the inside.
But no matter what happens, I’ve promised myself, never to backslide.
I thought I can do without my hide,
I thought taking off my garment is the sweetest requirement.
I thought it will drive me into everlasting enjoyment. But I never knew, it will end me into getting body impairment.
Now I’m naked, mistaken to be another figure, and now I’m forsaken by those who knew me before.

For I no longer want to hide from my shame. Give me back my hide, so that my pride, can cover my eternal shame.

About this poem

This poem figuratively expresses a tiger's lost ego, worth and value. Feeling sorry for itself and filled with regret thinking it can do without its initial coverings.
