Her worth

Her worth 1990 (Indiana)

As she walked across the bridge that day I watched her light that match
She stood and watched as it burned so she knew he can't come back
She was over hearing his excuses, she knew it was time to let it go
Why would she waste her time explaining her worth to someone that didn't deserve to know
She had drawn a line that day and she knew that she had changed
She felt the weight lift off her shoulders as she got her peace back in exchange
She was damaged never afraid
She chose to see the good in people so this was the price she's paid
That heart of gold she wore so proud laid under heavy lock and key she was tired of empty promises so this was how it had to be
She went to turn around to go looked like she had come to terms
So I think that's why she stood there so long watching silenty as it burned
As I watched her walk away that day I swear i saw her smile that had to mean she learned a lesson that made this worth her while
