Farm Charm

Debra Bigelow 1959 (Washington)

March 23

Farm

I grew up by a small country town.
Horses, chickens and cows all around.
Long summer days, cool clear nights
Dog day afternoons, stars twinkled bright.
A tractor in the field, the smell of fresh cut hay
I wish I could return to those far gone days
When coyotes howl serenaded me to sleep.
Winds blew forever, the air fresh and clean.
Not a care in the world, my troubles were few.
It wasn't easy, hard work saw us through.
There's no replacing small country charms
I was truly blessed to grow up on a farm.

It speaks to my heart! Not too lengthy. Also, I am eating at Bob Evan's that reminds me of home cooking on the farm!
